Petite Meller | Lil Empire [Official Album Packaging]

This project began with a mockup campaign I uploaded on social media for the album 'Lil Empire' by French musician Petite Meller, which included concepts for packaging and background layout. Originally part of a design contest (which the mockup won), I didn't expect anything further from it.
However after posting the project online and passing out for the night, I was surprised to wake up to find both the artist and her creative director reaching out to me to ask if I was interested in collaborating on the official packaging project. Of course I accepted, how many would turn down the chance to work directly with one of their creative idols?

Petite and her team already had a solid concept in mind for the packaging which focused on the aesthetic of vintage travel postcards coupled with the cursive font seen below. The starting point was the red, blue, and white border visible on the booklet pages (the colours of Meller's home country, France) and from there I suggested the inclusion of stamps, with the design corresponding to the respective country of inspiration for each song. The project was my first endeavour with something that would be physically released so it was a learning curve with a few small bumps along the way, however having the opportunity to work with Meller and Mann was so fascinating and exciting, as well as being pivotal to my acceptance into one of the UK's top design schools.
